Set in Independence National Historic Park, Carpenter’s Hall has been continuously owned and operated since 1770 by The Carpenters’ Company of the City and County of Philadelphia, the oldest trade guild in America. The building hosted the First Continental Congress in1774, and was also home to Ben Franklin’s Library Company, The American Philosophical Society, and the First and Second Banks of the United States.

In this live, one-of-a-kind demonstration, step into the past and witness the future of laser scanning technologies. Pennoni Associates, Inc. will reveal the historic Georgian interiors of Carpenter’s Hall as never seen before by using high-end laser scanning equipment and remote-controlled aerial photogrammetry equipment(drones) to create highly accurate,survey-grade models of the physical space and objects.

You will also earn Autodesk’s Recap photo and Autodesk’s Revit building information modelling (BIM) software is used to build a precision Revit model.

Key learning includes: hands-on demonstration about laser scanning technologies and devices; understanding of the use of UAV’s as a reality capture platform; Autodesk’s Recap photo for automated point cloud creation from captured data; Autodesk’s Revit for creation of building information models (BIM) with the point cloud data.
