This workshop will provide a hands-on letterpress printing experience with Hamilton Wood Type + Printing Museum's Jim and Bill Moran. Various printing methods and machines will be presented, including two Vandercook Proofing Presses and an Iron Hand Press.

All materials will be provided. Every participant takes home at least one print. Limit: 30 people.

Tickets on sale starting September 18.

A second workshop is being offered from 1:15-3pm at the same location.

In 1981, a group of Philadelphia designers formed AIGA Philadelphia, the first local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Presently the chapter is comprised of over 600 members. AIGA Philadelphiaâ€™s purpose is both integral and complementary to the national organization: to provide the highest standards within the profession and the business community and to stimulate interest and understanding of graphic design and visual communication through lectures, exhibitions, and other activities. The Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum is the only museum dedicated to the preservation, study, production and printing of wood type. With 1.5 million pieces of wood type and more than 1,000 styles and sizes of patterns, Hamilton's collection is one of the premier wood type collections in the world.
