In the Metropolis/DuPontâ„¢ "Shape the Future" Design Competition, design professionals were asked to unleash their creativity with design concepts that would transform the familiar 20th century material into "21st century, tech-age environments," including: surfaces, spaces, structures, art, furniture and objects, that might enliven such building segments as Healthcare, Workplace, Education, Retail, Residential, Hotels, Restaurants, Transportation, Cultural and Institutional.
