Your Brain is the largest permanent exhibition at The Franklin Institute and located in the new 53,000 square foot Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion. The pavilion—designed by Saylor Gregg Architects, complete with a “shimmer wall†façade by artist Ned Kahn—expands the institution’s display space and educational facilities. Hear the inside story behind the exhibition space, where classic meets innovative design, with The Franklin Institute’s Director of Design Jeanne Maier.
Afterwards, Klip Collective connects science and design with a screening of the 1977 short film Powers of Ten by Ray and Charles Eames, narrated by Phil Morrison. Presented in The Franklin Institute’s Fels Planetarium, the film will be introduced by a short tribute to the Eames legacy and their influence in the world of design with a kaleidoscope of imagery and graphic celebration of patterns. Hosted by The Franklin Institute’s Chief Astronomer and Planetarium Director Derrick Pitts.
There will be two screenings starting at 5pm and 6pm.
